Scott Bradford is a versatile leader with extensive experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. His career is distinguished by a strong foundation in sports, business management, and organizational leadership, combined with a commitment to community service and development.
Scott's journey began at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), where he was a varsity athlete in Track and Field. As a provincially ranked middle-distance runner during his first two years, Scott demonstrated the discipline and perseverance required to excel both academically and athletically. This experience shaped his character, mindset, and outlook on what is possible when truly aligned with one's goals.
During his time at UWO, Scott also took on the role of Franchise Manager for College Pro Painters. Recognized as Rookie Manager of the Year, he successfully ran a franchise with 12 employees. This invaluable experience helped him develop the skills necessary to run a successful business, and Scott regarded it as equally valuable as his MBA.
After graduating with his MBA in 1992, Scott transitioned to a role as Program Coordinator and Instructor at Heritage College from 1994 to 1996. In the Adult Education Department, Business Program (Entrepreneurship), he assisted in creating over 30 business plans, several of which led to successful business launches.
From 1996 to 2001, Scott worked in the high-tech industry, where he was part of a team that introduced Canada’s first e-commerce platform and launched one of the most innovative online applications. Despite the challenges posed by the “.com bust,” Scott gained valuable experience in innovation and technology.
For the past 20 years, Scott has been building and leading non-profits with considerable success. As CEO of BGC Ottawa, he led a $5M agency with 100 staff, responsible for generating over $2.5M per year in revenues through fund development. Scott created a significant brand presence through excellent marketing, branding, and communications, attracting support from some of Ottawa’s largest philanthropists. As CEO of the Nanaimo Child Development Centre, Scott's leadership was recognized with the Non-Profit of the Year award by the Chamber of Commerce.
