Meet Emily Nichols

Emily Nichols works with organizations that want to strengthen the human skills we (still!) need in an increasingly technical world.

As a keynote speaker, leadership trainer and professional engineer, Emily connects easily at all levels of organizations, inspiring deeper understanding and collaborative teamwork. Her background includes projects with PepsiCo, PPG, Janssen, and Henkel, improving products and processes from breakfast cereal to automotive paint and electrical steel. And she makes learning fun!

Originally from Blenheim, Ontario, Emily Nichols grew up on the family farm where her early jobs included hoeing beans, grading onions, picking rocks, and making boring tasks fun for her sisters. Emily thought she’d pursue something easier than farming, so she picked...engineering. Twice! As if two engineering degrees weren’t enough, she also married an engineer. And in the spirit of keeping things fun, Emily summarized her master’s thesis in five Dr. Seuss rhymes. "Emily Nichols" rhymes with pickles.

She knows how to keep the audience engaged! Emily has also appeared on some celebrated stages such as the Château Frontenac ballroom in Québec City and the TEDx stage at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Likes and interests:

In Emily’s world, life is an adventure – try everything! - and it’s more fun to do it together. Try standup comedy, start a band...it’s never too late. Emily loves creating experiences for people, whether that’s a street festival show (she’s one half of acoustic duo Musty Harmony), a national speakers conference (she’s organizing CAPS Convention 2026) or an impromptu family gathering. Anything is possible, and there are always more ideas than time.
